Bob Martin is the original proprietor of the Dogfish Tackle Company. In 1985, he took his passion for fishing and opened the store to help others foster their passion as well. Bob designed our original Dogfish Stik, which has become a favorite rod of many professional and recreational anglers alike. He is truly a tackle pioneer!
Dave Bayes has led Team Dogfish for over 20 years. As the managing partner, he has grown the store and its team to be the best on the West Coast of Florida! Dave has also been successful on the water as a perennial contender in the Kingfish tournament scene. He offers local anglers expert advice and fishing knowledge, and is well known for his custom Kingfish Rigs. But, it's Dave’s genuine personality and special ability to make every customer important that are his greatest assets to Dogfish. Dave has created our amazing customer service based business with a premium inventory selection.
As the store manager at Dogfish Tackle, Joe offers customers knowledge from his on-the-water experiences. He began fishing as a second grader, plucking Pompano from the water off the piers of Ft. Desoto. What started as a boyhood obsession has become his life's passion. He is an accomplished inshore and offshore
angler, as well as a respected diver and spear fisherman. His friendly and helpful approach is the Dogfish way!
Colton is our assistant manager who has fished as much as possible both inshore and on our local piers. He began fishing as a tot with his father and brother in their family boat, and has been hooked ever since. As he got older, Colton learned how to fish the Redington Pier for big Snook, Kingfish, and Tarpon. He also loves to big bass fish, and especially enjoys catching them on top water plugs. Colton is continually on the water gaining more fishing knowledge to better assist our customers. He hopes to see you out there or here in our great store!
Adam has a definite passion for the great outdoors. He began fishing as a kid by catching bass in lakes all across the state of Florida. As he grew, so did the fish he caught. He developed a knack for catching big snook and tarpon using heavy spinning tackle. Now, he is great at throwing jigs in passes around bridges.

Ben begin fishing a a young age catching grouper, cobia, and snapper offshore. As he got older he ventured off into flats fishing and fishing residential docks and dock lights. As he became more and more experienced with the outdoors he began to do his own DIY projects to his personal boats. Starting off with simple tasks as replacing pumps and switches. Then ventured into more and more complicated projects anything to fiber glass repair to a full rewire. He is also a very accomplished diver with many dives under his belt. So Come see Ben for anything from inshore fishing techniques to fixing electrical gremlins.
