Captain Ed Walker
Light Tackle Charters
Ed Walker is one of the area's top light tackle guides for both inshore and offshore fishing. He has been featured in numerous magazines, had a popular TV show for 3 years, and is currently a featured writer for the St. Petersburg Times. In 13 years as a guide, he led clients to over $400,000 in tournament winnings, holds the record for the largest tarpon ever weighed in a tournament in Boca Grande (208 lbs.), and won several IGFA world records. He lives and fishes on the fertile waters of Tarpon Springs where he has perfected many unique fishing methods unavailable in other places. Such techniques include shallow water grouper fishing, light tackle sight fishing for big cobia on extra shallow grassflats, and flyfishing for the largest tarpon that swim the flats anywhere in the world. This area, with its gin clear water and miles of lush grassflats, also holds some of the best snook, redfish, and trout flats on the west coast of Florida. Plus, there are numerous productive wrecks and ledges just offshore.
